Five years in the making, Pela are finally hitting every wayward town and truckstop in promotion of their full-length debut, “Anytown Graffiti”. As everyone knows, 5 years is a long time for an indie band to make a few friends, and thankfully, WOXY.com has been an ardent Pela supporter since day zero. Together, Pela and WOXY.com present to you an All-American band’s All-American journey from May 30 – June 17.
Expect tales of drunken nights, sightseeing tips, and high-quality investigative reporting from the latest rock & roll crime scenes across America. CDs, tickets, T-shirts and buttons will be given away on every step of the tour. Tune in or feed in at WOXY.com or specifically: http://woxy.lala.com/blog/. Here’s the giveaways for this week’s shows.
Wed, May 30 Spaceland, Los Angeles – 1 CD + T + buttons
Thu, May 31 San Francisco – 2 tickets
Sat, Jun 02 Dante’s, Portland, OR – 2 tickets
And, don’t forget our own tour blog which will include articles and photos of the tour.
The lads have posted a few entries in their tour blog over the last 24 hours or so. If you want to follow their antics on the road, click on the tour blog button in the sidebar.
We’ve been featured on a new Shifted Sound Podcast. You can get more info and/or give it a listen at Shifted Sound.
With the lads about to launch their first national tour, we figured we’d set up a separate blog so that you can tag along with them. They’ll be posting messages and photos whenever possible as they wind their way from coast-to-coast and back again with a few stops in the Great White North. Stop by from time to time and see what they’re up to. Just click on the “Tour Blog” banner in the sidebar. The fun starts next Thursday as they begin their drive to sunny LA.
Pela will be doing an acoustic radio performance on Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles for Chuck P’s Dead Air program on May 30 and on Seattle’s KEXP on June 4.
We will post more details as soon as they become available.
Puddlegum has reviewed our online activities. You can read the article at puddlegum.net.
The Dinner With the Band segments are now available as free podcasts on iTunes. Check out a couple of Pela performances and pick up some recipes to boot.
We had to cancel the Fearless.tv show due to scheduling conflicts. Thanks to those of you who sent in questions for the interview. We plan on answering and posting each one the website, but give us a couple of days (we’re pretty busy getting ready for tour).
